People like that should not have children
I was young and told one of my very best friends about myself and my parents. He listened to the adult child's story of who my mother and father were and was, in all good faith, categorically judgmental. “People like that shouldn't have children,” he said indignantly. Later, on a completely different occasion, I told my story to a female friend. She responded in a similar way. “Your mom and dad should not have become parents.”
Now that I think about their feedback, the child who had grown up into a young adult and who was their friend would also have ceased to exist at the same time as his suffering was lifted. In other words, I would not have existed if my parents had never had children.
The door to the contradictory is opened wide.
